About Me

Ever since I was a child, I have been fascinated by the Civil War.  My Grandfather and his extended family used to tell me stories that were passed down from their parents and grandparents about the Civil War in Stone County, MO and the events that happened along the old wire road in that part of the country.  Two Great Grandfather's from this area served in the War and had to leave their families behind to fend for themselves.  I used to listen with fascination about some of the tragic events and humorous events that occurred and it made a big impression on me as a child.  As an adult, I have been an avid student of the Civil War, especially in the Western Theatre. I have visited many battlefields and related sites and continue to do so to this day.  I am proud to be a collateral descendant of at least 7 Confederate Veterans and it is my hope that their sacrifices will not be forgottoen.  l look forward to serving as your Camp Commander in the coming year.  Veo Vindice and see you soon!
